David Brooks lectured in the Department of Anthropology at Durham University between 1968 and 1989. During this time he was greatly admired and revered by many undergraduates, post-graduates and staff for his dynamic and highly engaging approach to social anthropology. David Brooks died on April 29th 1994 and this archive was created to commemorate his life and to bring his work to a wider audience.

The David Brooks Archive was created by David’s literary executor, Professor Sue Wright, and Professor Bob Simpson of the Anthropology Department at Durham University.
